This Math Teacher Loves This Prep Book

As a high school math teacher, I am very impressed by this text. I wish that it was the primary text that my school is using for our ACT class. Wonderful examples and explanations, broken down by category so students can go directly to the section(s) where they know they are lacking.

offers explanation AND plenty of practice problems...

I purchased 4 ACT prep books through Amazon for my high school sons, and after using them for 3 weeks, I can say that Amsco's book is the best. There are diagnostic tests to determine areas of weakness, and then corresponding lessons are offered based on the problems missed. There is no guesswork - the book spells out exactly what page numbers to go to for review practice if the student misses a particular problem. In addition, there are around 20-25 problems for the student to practice the concept they're struggling with, along with 5 ACT-type problems that deal with the math concept. I haven't used the science portion of the text yet, but if the math is any indication, I'm sure I'll be pleased.

After reviewing multiple other books and resources to help with my daughter's ACT retest, I found the Postman books to be very solid.

Would buy both Postman books, the Real ACT Test Book, and consider the ACT Prep Black Book by Barrett.

The Math review was solid. The science review was pretty limited - I never did find a science review resource that seemed to make a difference.

I am a 69 year old grandfather and was introduced to the I, Q series by 16 year old grandson. He needed to read several books over the summer and the I, Q series was on the list. I did some research on the series and then decided to purchase a Kindle version of the first book. Once I read it, I was hooked, so I have purchase all the books in the series including this one, The Alamo, which I thought was the last one in the series. Without giving anything away, I suspect there are one or several more books to come to resolve the several issues that this book has raised. I got the book in the mail yesterday afternoon, and finished it about 3AM this morning. It was everything I expected in the series, and highly recommend it. This might have been intended reading for youths, but even "Old Fogies" will enjoy it. Great plot, characters, and emotional suspense that all aged readers can enjoy. I am looking forward to the next in the series to resolve the issues that the authors raised. - Respectfully, Dr. P

Highly recommended-loved it!

I'm a teacher and my kids love all of Roland Smith's books, but especially his I,Q series and I've enjoyed reading the books to my class. I wasn't sure how a fourth book in the series with a co-writer would work. I was afraid it might be too different. I needn't have worried. However and Roland and Michael P. Spradlin divided up the work, the transition is as seamless as can be. The action is non-stop, the interaction between Q and Angela is hilarious and even poignant at times. I've been to San Antonio and reading the books makes you feel like you are there. And the mysterious Boone becomes even more mysterious. What I think I loved most and my kids are enjoying (school starts early in Arizona) is that every character is growing and developing and changing as the story moves along. But the relationship between Q, Angela and Boone deepens in this book, and the details we learn about Boone have my kids greatly anticipating the next book. I hope it comes out soon

Fabulous read! Great quality book. Best series to come out in a while. Says for young adults, but at 45, I have found it to be enchanting and enthralling. Great character development, intrigue, and believability. Total success!!

Now I know what's going on back there!

I found this book very helpful in that it differentiates between various types of back pain by using four different categories for back pain. It allowed me to understand what kind of pain I have and to put it into a context. It also gave me specific exercises that are good for me. The book is not particularly kind to chiropractors, but I believe it is fair and generally open minded, and optimistic. I especially appreciated his emphasis on attitude.

No More Back Pain

I thought I was headed for surgery. I bought the original edition of this book about 20 years ago, and it changed my life. I ski, mortorcycle, lift heavy objects, play golf and do anything I want without any fear. My back may occasionally annoy me a little, (I'm in my 50's) but it never stops me from doing anything. This is the best book for back pain I have ever read.

In 1966 Jean-Pierre Garnier Malet, a young student of physics, surprised the scientific community with the publication of an article for the Paris Academy of Sciences. He made an astonishing discovery related to the properties of time in 1988. His theory about the doubling of time, published between 1998 and 2006, has provided many scientific premises. I should be giving this book a 5 star review because the content merits it. However, the translation makes it a stop and go feeling; meaning that you get into a flow of a few sentences, and then you have to stop and re-read some sentences to get a sense of what's going on.

This is a story of an adult talking to a child about very important and relevant wellbeing concepts - but the flow is just not there - bumber! This book should have been handed over to a native english speaker for review.
